Community Photos Privacy Addendum
The core guide, local sightings and personal photos do not require an account. Personal photos and saved sighting locations stay on your device and in your selected portable iCloud or Google Drive backup.
Data used for Community Photos
If you opt in, BirdGuide processes your Firebase account identifier and sign-in details supplied by Apple or Google; terms acceptance; each explicitly submitted photo, species, attribution, licence and consent; image dimensions and moderation state; integrity tokens, reports, blocks, moderation actions, and operational/security logs.
Purpose and visibility
We use this data for authentication, abuse prevention, processing, moderation, attribution, approved public display, support and deletion. Precise sighting coordinates and other private personal photos are not included. Firebase and Google Cloud process the service data. Only approved derivatives and attribution become public; pending originals remain owner-only apart from trusted processing and moderation.
Your choices
You can withdraw a submission, report or block users, and delete your community account in the app. See the web deletion instructions. Completed deletion and security records are kept no longer than 90 days unless law requires otherwise. See also the general Smalkworks privacy policy.
